Repairs & Modification Addendum

Has anyone had any luck requesting repairs and modifications with an inspectiion addendum when purchasing a short sale?

I drafted a list of repairs and modifications needed when making my last short sale purchase. Unfortunately, the listing agent was offended that I even made this attempt!

Are short sales generally sold "as is?"

Who do you think would be paying for your requested repairs? The seller, who is underwater and not looking to put any more money into a house that they are getting rid of? The bank who is taking a loss?

As @Wayne Brooks posted, use the list of repairs to bargain the purchase price down, expecting that you will have to fund repairs yourself.
