Is the Dallas market currently a good market to invest in, ive seen some blog posts (outside of BP) advertising Dallas , Tx as one of the best places to invest in 2019.  Currently have no investment property’s but the wife and I are looking to get our feet in the water,Thanks

@Ryan Clements the city of Dallas has historically been horribly mismanaged. They recently started a rental registration program. Now I am in favor of rental registrations, but the city of Dallas has been overly abusive to landlords with it. All my personal investment properties are registered with Dallas. Once you register their completely unqualified "inspector" will come out and fail your property for very questionable reasons. This requires you to make the changes/repairs needed to pass. Then the city will come out again...and fail you for different reasons. To be clear it is cheaper for me to repair the property for sale than it is to repair the property for lease in Dallas now. And allot more headache. The city hands out fines like candy. Many times, with no justification. And you cannot do anything about it. But pay. We manage hundreds of units all over Dallas Fort Worth. Dallas is the worst to deal with. If you do not register the property expect a $650 fine...monthly. I know people that have had this happen. The city also has a habit of placing liens on properties for various violations without notifying the owner. I have paid several liens for lawn violations at closings when I could have had the tenant pay if the city would have notified me.

I could continue but the point is many other cities welcome and are more responsible with my tax dollars.
