Community Property State problems

Just thought I would share that I met with my lender in Wisconsin which is a community property state, and she told me that my husbands debts will count against me when figuring debt to income. I had always thought if one spouse was getting the mortgage, only that spouses income and debts counted, just thought I would share so you are aware in a community property state.

Now that is some good debt to have. I was worried that it was a mustang @ golf clubs. So if that is the issue. I would find another bank & credit union. My wife and I ran into that issue Texas, some credit unions reported my wife debt some didn't care.

Don't give up.
