Anyone have experience doing a bulk purchase with some sort of suitable heat source for a mobile home?

Mobile homes do not have the greatest insulation. In general, there are three options on most mobile homes: 1) central gas unit 2) central electric unit and 3) electric window heat/air. Because of insulation limitations, typically all mobile homes in the northern part of the U.S. are on gas, and only southern homes are on electric when it comes to heating -- strictly due to operating costs. It should also be noted that window heat/air units may not fit into the electrical demands of some homes and this must be checked in advance.

For those who are into trivia, there are some mobile home models that are heated with a wood-burning fireplace, and others that are heated with fuel oil, but these are relatively rare and --potentially -- dangerous from both safety and environmental reasons.
