What does a "Specialty Contractor License" mean to a customer?
If you are in the market for anything construction and you're on the path of finding the right contractor to perform and complete your project, whether that is (i.e. electrical, plumbing, specialty contractor, concrete etc.) ...and lets say you find the contractor you're looking for. You see their work is good and they have a professional online presence. Further you make an appointment with them. They show you their credentials and their "contractors license". How do you feel about them being a licensed contractor? What does a contractor license mean to you as a consumer?

Specialty contractors are for "special" areas in construction. Let's say main line pipes, asbestos and lead abatement companies, construction zone traffic control, hazardous material abatement. Some states, they have every trade as a specialty, simply because some jobs are too big and they want to segregate those who really specialize from those who think they specialize aka handyman (ie. a painting company that will not take any projects less than 500k).
To answer your question, I personally find it best that if you are a contractor, you use some sort of jack of all trades contractor, underselling and over performing is something that we do. We don't promise a house and deliver dirt, but we sell dirt and deliver dirt and a house.
