Due diligence on new project
Hi all, I am considering a property built in 1924, 2 story, 2,614 Sq. Ft.
I would be updating it where necessary, adding a bedroom and bathroom, and converting the garage. Anything I should be particularly wary of from that era of construction?
Thanks!

The first things that come to mind that I would look at is electrical(wiring, panel), scope the sewer line, insulation in attic, HVAC/duct work(also does it cool and heat the home properly), is the walls plaster or drywall, plumbing(is it corroded, leaks), etc. There is many more but connect with a GC who has a track record and has worked on old homes. They are neat but can have a lot of surprises.
