AGENTS AND BROKERS!! Please offer some insight!

I would like to kick off my real estate career by interning at a local agency before I'm legally able to work as an agent myself (then later become an investor at the same time). Assuming that you, the reader, are an agent or broker, what would you expect or want your intern to do/know? I have a habit of asking what to expect before I do things (yes I know, I should just do it). Thanks for the feedback in advance!

I'm not sure there's a way to legally "intern" for a real estate agent in CA without compensation.  I could be wrong.  For me it would have to be a situation where you were going to join my team after getting licensed. In which case I'd have you shadow me and others on my team so when you get your license you're ready to rock.  However we don't have time to teach people how to fill out contracts so we mainly bring people on who have some experience selling.  Hope that helps.  If you're set on this I'd all a local title company and have them give you a list of the top ten agents/teams in your market then contact the decision maker and tell them what you're trying to do and can they help.
