What can I do to prepare me to become an agent once I get my license? Should I start memorizing scripts, analyzing my market, etc?

I am about to end my senior year of high school (currently 17, turning 18 in June) and see two ways i can go about my life:

(Keep in mind I am also a day trader so my ability to make money for myself is not lacking)

1. Right after graduating, I apply to community college for two years and transfer to a UC school to get a bachelors degree in somewhere around business. then possibly become an agent or work somewhere else. Maybe ill come up with something while I get older like start a business (I have started a business before in fact). I can get a college degree, but I have no true experience, unless I become an agent part time.

2. Take a gap year and become a real estate agent immediately I turn 18 and gather some experience in the real world with a useful skill set. After 1 year, I might then continue to pursue real estate OR if I don't like it (which can happen, but just in case), go back to plan 1. Money is not a concern, especially in my teen years. I value the process of learning and taking risks now.

In short, I have an entrepreneurial attitude; school is slowly losing its meaning for me. I agree more with the "work to learn" mentality with application, not the soft theories I'm taught at school. Personally, I prefer path #2, but many of you guys are older than me with more life experience so I'm willing to hear the opinions of what I should do. thanks in advance, big decisions are coming...

@Jonathan

@Jonathan Greene Thanks for your response! this is certainly a career path I'm leaning towards.

As of right now, I'm looking to become an intern at a local agency before I turn 18. Since you're an agent, what would you want your intern to know/do for you? any other advice as well?

I would like to kick off my real estate career by interning at a local agency before I'm legally able to work as an agent myself (then later become an investor at the same time). Assuming that you, the reader, are an agent or broker, what would you expect or want your intern to do/know? I have a habit of asking what to expect before I do things (yes I know, I should just do it). Thanks for the feedback in advance!

what's up guys! i'm a senior in high school and as of right now, i'm studying how to invest in properties, and i'm also a day trader. BUT i have no idea what my future job will be. i do know that real estate investing will be something i'll commit to in my future. even though i'd like to stick to day trading and REI, i know that i should get a job in the future. Being young and about to graduate high school, what would you guys say about me becoming a real estate agent while in community college. this is not for the money at all; i just wanna learn about real estate from an agents perspective while making some connections. while i'm not sure if this will become a job of mine years after graduating college, this is something i'm thinking about. what do you guys think? would you do the same if you were my age?

 Hey Anthony. For starters, I want to ask a local investor how they find potential deals in my market, and also their "filtration" process to weed out the good from the bad. My main focus is personally coming into contact with an investor. The books and the internet are great, and I'd like to expand my knowledge by learning through a current investor as well.

Whattup guys! I've been asking around my high school if anybody knew an investor around Torrance but nothing yet. I've turned to BP to see if there are any investors who are willing to guide a 17 year old who's driven about REI. Just asking a little of your time; I'll try to help in any way possible.

Hey guys, my name is Kenji Ignacio and I live in Torrance, CA. I'm a high school senior with no real estate backround. I'm learning as much as I can right now and my goal is to learn about different strategies and to find my niche. Looking to make a better future for myself just like the rest of you...
