If you were to suggest a brokerage for a new agent who would you recommend? For modern day real estate training, revenue/profit sharing, ownership, favorable commission splits, etc.

which brokerage are many agents transitioning to and what are the benefits?

who are the most investor friendly/knowledgeable brokerages?

If your looking for 1 brokerage that hit's all these points let me save you the time and say that's like looking for a leprechaun, riding a unicorn. It just does not exist.

For the new agent, a brokerage to best learn at is probably not going to have the other attributes, and that makes sense right, because there doing/giving more on the education front. And the brokerage with best splits and income potential will have less on the active, let's call it "noob nurturing" side of things, because fact is it's a major time-suck and $ draw to have such.

KW is still pretty well regarded as the leader in "new" agent training. Now, I am not saying it's the best, or even good, I would say it's very person specific, but it is their "jam" so to speak, and KW is very well setup to make things work from day 0.

eXp seems to still be "The Place" ton's of agent are transitioning to after they have some time in the biz and are up and running. For about half they seem to regret it, I am betting because they ran before they could walk. eXp has a great, not good, structure for the self-sufficient agent. Unparalleled opportunities in income and growth.

Then we have all the lovely 0-split brokerages emerging, this is the Fathom's and Realty One groups out there. For these I'd warn that you get what you pay for, it's self-inflicted injury to jump into a 0-split brokerage and expect a whole ton of things from them, the less $ they take, the less $ they have to work with, or provide things, it's just simple.

As far as best place for investor activity, connections, opportunities, hands down my brokerage is #1 in the U.S. but you hear little talk about it because we are all too busy doing things. AND, it's NOT for the new agent. We don't have a program to train someone from 0, and have 0 interest in making one. We will do more volume in a month then most agents at other brokerages do all year, we do some of the most complex deals, residential, commercial etc.. All our agent come from somewhere else first, because like I said, we don't teach those basics. But for someone who has the basics down and want's no limit on what they can do, we give them a shot and feed from a firehose, see if one sinks or swims.

The journey of a R.E. agent is not a singular one, it's a series of steps. Myself, I could do really anything, I am more then capable, I have chosen to specialize in investment real estate. That's not for everyone, some love dealing with luxury segment and all the diva's, all the more to them, or into retail 1st time buyers, or water front, or or or. Real Estate has been on a trend of becoming more and more specialized. I would say try to find your focused niche as early as possible, and follow what best fits for that.
