Wholesaling vs. Bird Dogging?

I am brand new to real estate investing. My wife and I have done a little in the past and made awesome money, but that was several years ago. I am wanting to start wholesaling properties and have been reading a lot here on BP but keep running into the same question. What is the difference between a bird dog and a wholesaler? Thank you in advance for helping me clarify!

Gary Clark, the wholesaler finds properties and gets under contract for deep discounted price and adds their fee to that to get paid by buyer. Bird dog just finds properties leads and turns over to buyer to do the rest of the work, and only gets paid (much less) for properties that go to closing.
