BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY

One of the struggles with being born with Cerebral Palsy is my speech impediment and stuttering. If you told me a few months ago that I would be cold calling apartment owners trying to convince them to sell their apartment to me I'd think you were crazy.

I had one big limiting belief: I DIDN'T THINK PEOPLE THAT DIDN'T KNOW ME WOULD BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND ME OR HAVE THE PATIENCE TO LISTEN TO SOME FUNNY SOUNDING GUY OVER THE PHONE.

At first , I tried to work around this weakness by relying on brokers to bring me deals. I quickly learned that if I relied solely on brokers to bring me deals it will take me forever before I get an apartment deal under my belt. My mentor @Sterling White suggested that I outsource the cold calling . I quickly learned that outsourcing cold calling during the beginning stages of my real estate career will eat away at my capital.

My only option was to man up and face my limiting beliefs head on. I purchased Cardone University to learn the basics of sales (highly recommended), focused on slowing down my speech, and articulating my words.

I  have since then have made hundreds of cold calls. I  found that only 2 individuals out of my hundred of calls couldn't understand me at first. After I  articulated my words even more we had no problem communicating. I have been negotiating with sellers and they were comfortable enough in providing their financial information to me. A few are open to selling to me if we can agree on price. That will be a topic for another post though haha.

In closing, I just want to point out that limiting beliefs only exist in our own imaginations. We are the only ones blocking our own blessings most of the time. If you really have a dream you will find a way to make it happen.

In 2 days it will be late great  Kobe Bryant's birthday. He always used to talk about making your weaknesses your strengths . That's probably why I have "mamba mentality" tattooed down my spine. I live by that.

Although I have not found an apartment deal where the numbers work yet...I am salivating at how sweet it will taste when I close on that first apartment deal knowing that I had work on things that others are not willing to do. I need this to happen BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!
