Newbie: Lots of rentals available in Tampa

I'm new and I plan to get into the buy and hold market. I've been looking into Tampa, Florida because it seems to be an obvious hot spot, though I'm located in another state. I did notice that there are a high amount of current rentals available on zillow and I'd like to know if this is good or bad? Part of me wants to think that the market is saturated with rentals, so it may lead to months of vacancy. Any thoughts from people smarter than me would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you friends
