Buying a property in another city?

Hello everyone, I am new to bigger pockets and to real estate investing. My wife and I currently own a duplex and live in one side of it. We are planning to move to a different city (about 2.5 hours away) in about a year and want to buy another multi-family residence there. I have found a 5 unit building that is currently for sale in our new city. Should we try to purchase it now and hire a property manager or just pass on this property and wait until we're ready to move?

Audric Crouch,
Welcome to BP.

Are you familiar with the new city that you're moving to?

If not, rent a place for at least 6 months, so you can become very knowledgeable, about the new city.
