Fix and Flip - websites

First discussion I've started on BP.   Yay, but let me be honest; I've recently dedicated my latest career adventures to real estate so there have been a lot of "firsts" for me lately.  Still doing the corporate America gig too, which I love.

Just formed a partnership company with another couple focusing on fix and flips in the northern Cincinnati, Ohio area.  We're doing a ton of research and completing the logistics around forming the business, but ran across a situation where the managing member are slightly up in the air about.

Website to brand our business.  How important is it, or is it needed? What is the focus of the site? Any good examples out there?

Secondly, the LLC name that we chose is "Surname" & "Surname" Properties L.L.C. Both of partners surnames start with "S" so we like the idea of a simple logo that has to do with S&S ( i know cliche), but I'm wondering about registering an URL for the site. One party likes ss_properties.com another likes simonscalfaro.com. The first is easy to remember the second is more intimate and brand to LLC.. Looking for the pro's opinions. Any "man, I wish I did it this way from the start" on this topic?

I know this is the not a top concern of getting into the real estate business, but there are not that many topics on it either.  Thought I would ask.

Happy Holiday Weekend.

Great questions, I think! My take is that lots of newer investors have the idea that they'll brand their flips with "Another rehab by S&S Properties" or something similar when it's listed on the MLS. What most find, however, is that you can't do enough volume in a defined area to create any kind of brand equity where that line in your MLS listing makes a difference. Likewise, unless you're going to try to use your website to generate leads for houses for you to buy, there's no reason to have one.

Your S&S business cards and website and polo shirts are really just for you guys.  I spent a bunch of money on a logo and business cards when I started flipping houses and it didn't do me any good.  Now, I have a different focus (wholesaling) and my website and business cards do serve a purpose that I can justify the investment.

Just my $0.02 and it might not even be worth that!  Congrats on the new business venture.
