Referral for CPA, REI Lawyer and REI Insurance in Western NY
Good Morning All,
Short Version: I'm looking for a CPA, Lawyer and Insurance Agent in the Greater Rochester NY area who are knowledgeable about and experienced with real estate investment. The goal is to find people who are willing to work with me in the long term, help educate me about their part of the business, and that I can have a good, friendly working relationship with.
Long Version:
I'm relatively new to Real Estate Investment (I have a Single Family that's been doing well for around 2 years) and very new to Bigger Pockets. My wife and I have made the decision to shift some things around and start investing in Real Estate more aggressively. We have a goal of 8-10 small multi-families in the next 4-5 years. Our current strategy is Buy and Hold, or Buy Rehab and Hold. As strange as it might seem, we love walking through terrible properties, looking for deals (and laughing at some of the absurd things you see.) In particular, my wife loves finding deals, and I love working on stuff - so this fits us at the moment.
Important things to note:
- We are debt averse (to an extent)
- I'm an engineer - expect me to question everything you do. With spreadsheets.
- I'm a machinist - expect me to be painfully precise. With sketches.
- We are focused on long term, sustainable growth
- Expensive, fancy, flashy things don't impress me - they make me think you charge too much and/or spend too much
Related to the last bullet - we're not in this 'just' for the money. My wife is an RN and I'm a Mechanical Engineer. We have no debt aside from our very modest mortgage, and live on less than just my salary. In the last 4 years, the thing we spent the most money on by far was adopting three kids with special needs.
Please understand, I'm not trying to pat myself on the back here - I'm trying to find professionals who are good at what they do, but understand our focus and objectives. We believe in being good stewards of the resources and abilities we have been given. To that end, we're getting into this business to make money responsibly, and to have a positive impact on the communities where we operate, and I'm looking for good, knowledgeable support in doing so.
Thanks All!
P.S. - I'll try not to drop my life story in every post I make. I just wanted to be really clear about the type of folks I'm looking to work with.
