I'm a junior in high school right now and I'm really excited for real estate investing, not being 18 what can I do to prepare? I'm getting interested in wholesaling and I want to get started as soon as possible.

Hi @Mason Linggi Welcome to BiggerPockets!

I'd encourage you to reach out to more experienced investors in your area! There is no substitute for being physically present with experienced investors.

    Education, education, and education.

    I would very much recommend pursuing higher education after high school. Also, in the spirit of education; continue to educate yourself on real estate. Read the books on the biggerpockets reading list. http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2013/04/14/best-real-estate-books/. I would also recommend the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad." Download the kindle app, and you can find most of these books on there for cheap, because they are the digital version. Then watch all 100 #askbp videos on the bigger pockets YouTube channel. There is a playlist to listen to them in order. Then start listening to the biggerpockets podcast. They are up to 142 episodes averaging an hour each.

    Educate yourself and you'll be better set to succeed in life and in real estate.

    Oh, and make sure to post an introduction in the new comers section 😬

    @mason

    @Mason LinggiI'd listen to podcasts that interview successful wholesalers. I would also educate yourself on all areas of real estate because you might find you want to take a different path.

    That said, @marina

    @Marina Sudis doing very well at wholesaling and I recommend talking to her.

    Mason Linggi im only 20 and just started last month trying to start getting leads. But it took me a while to learn all the different ways to find motivated sellers. Once i thought i read and learned everything i could in a book, thats when I decided to take action. Im still learning as i go along though, the learning never stops. After looking at every way to get into real estate i found that wholesaling was the best route for me to start out due to my situation. That being said i only studied and learned about wholesaling because i didnt want to focus on to many things. Research tall the different types of real estate investing and then choose one that works with your situation and become an expert at it.

    Thank you! Marina actually wasn't much help. Is there anyone else you would recommend?
