Lost in Real Estate

I've spent many hours on reading articles, forums and books searching for advice on how to start my RE career and although I've found many useful advice I still seem to find myself lost on how to start. I just got my job so I'm saving money weekly. Any experienced Real Estate agents out there who are willing to give me some advice on the best way to start. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Your first job is education. Forget the guru stuff; there are good solid courses and learning opportunities for a fundamentally sound real estate education. If you are a reader and can learn independently, first obtain and read a textbook on real estate principles. Next a textbook on real estate finance. Third a book or course on real estate valuation. After getting a working knowledge of these fundamentals you will be much more attune to the opportunities and risks in this field.
