Investing from Japan: Strength or Weakness?
I invested in my first rental in CO Springs in Nov 2021 from 16 time zones away (Japan). I really enjoy analyzing deals and finally pulled the trigger, but now I'm playing the waiting game until I have enough capital for the next deal. In the meantime, I'd like to learn as much as I can while I am stationed in Japan for the next 1.5 years. My wife and I are active duty Air Force officers and eager to use our VA loans/sink our teeth into REI in the states, but it feels hard from this distance.
However, I think there could be some unique benefits to adding someone 16 time zones away to an investment team. So far, I’ve been toying with the idea of providing a competitive advantage to an investor by analyzing and pre-qualifying deals/leads while their competitors are sleeping, giving this investor an early-bird advantage without having to sacrifice their own sleep. Would anyone be interested in this service? Any other ideas on how I could use this unique situation as a strength rather than seeing it as a weakness?
