We are seriously considering  rent to retirement properties given the relative passive nature.

I don't really have the time to vet multiple agents, mortgage providers, property managers, etc in other markets and trust that I'm getting someone to steer me in the right direction.The Rent to Retirement concept takes all of that guesswork out of it by having teams in place in the markets that they've already researched. 

I am a retired Navy Submariner, current REI and now work in turnkey.

Recently retired, and planning to rent out our current home as first gig, since we're moving to another state to be closer to kids/grandkids.

I've been a teacher (5th grade and 7th S.S.) for 22 years and can retire with full pension in 3 years.   

At least make Rent to Retirement pay for advertising!
