We bought this house, and we're living in it and renovating it. Every project is turning into a nightmare. I'm not sure if the contractors are trained to exacerbate every single problem or not...

Why add an ADU if it can be purchased cheaper?

Unless you have a clause in the purchase of the entity that clearly makes you responsible for the entity from the day that you buy it(Indemnification) I wouldn't bother with the LLC.Good luck man. all the best!
