These losses depend on the layout and geometry of the system (ductwork, piping, etc) and the insulation used, the ambient temperature that these ducts/pipes are traveling through, the temperature of the air or water/glycol mix etc...

Personally, I just communicate with my tenants that we keep the HVAC (in florida so rarely need the furnace) above 68 degrees at all times, and that it is best to keep the HVAC above 74 degrees during the hotter afternoons where the ambient temp is in the 90s.

Well, I'm sure you can agree that 68 degrees is very unreasonable with an ambient temp of 114.

So I dress & head over to discover she had our maintenance guy on the lower roof trying to remove the melting snow & ice.The ambient thaw had started & the elderly lady decided to open the window several hours earlier.....she doesn't pay for heat..YET!!!

Seems to me that if your ambient soil has issues and is moving, that a foundation problem will just happen again.Before you start dumping huge sums of money into this, you need a soils engineer, not a foundation contractor.
