If the tenants leave cereal boxes out and the house gets overrun with ants, it's still your responsibility as the landlord to have pest control in place to prevent or treat the problem.

@Jay HinrichsReminds me of the cereal companies creating the nutrition / food pyramid.Of course they are gonna have an opinionated pieceI agree in vacation / beach areas they are great but once you start getting into true residential neighborhoods I can see them being very problematic

There is no universal code of ethics, so it's subjective, but in my opinion, this is certainly unethical.It's no different than walking into a grocery store, buying a box of cereal for $4.99, getting to the counter, and having the cashier say, "Oh, the $4.99 doesn't include the packaging...the total price, with the box, is $7.99."
