The age of the building(s) alone should not discourage you, but you need to account for how they have been maintained (or not maintained) over their life span and budget required modernization/rehabilitation into your analysis prior to purchase.

The Pocono Mountains of Pa have traditionally been areas where NYC and the greater Philly area have come to vacation and hang out.

It would be an interesting list for out-of-state investors as well as these tax codes are effectively discouraging investment.

I think if you started your own niche brokerage focused on restoring older houses then when you go to list houses for sellers of these homes you would have the network and experience over a traditional broker/agent model.
