In some situations that can be the only way for a property to tap into the City sewer - waste flows downhill so sometimes the only option is to cut through someone else's property or share their line.

All my options lead to just taking it out and dealing with it.

In this situation, you might consider exploring the option of refinancing the existing property to access equity for the downpayment on the new residence.
