The next few months will be unpredictable but people will always need a clean and safe place to live.

Here are some tips that may seem obvious, but are sometimes overlooked:Ensure the entire property is empty, clear and free of any items and most importantly, CLEAN!

A property may have contracted services for Laundry, pest control, trash hauling,landscaping, snow removal, elevator servicing, cleaning services, window washing, securityservices, parking lot sweeping, etc.

Also, even if they have purchased a home before, they aren’t necessarily that savvy so it may take days to week or more for them to get all the paperwork together for a loan officer to figure out what they can lend (ie people have lives and also not always “clean W2” salaries).While I work with plenty of clients who don’t have their financing set when I meet them (or day they do but can’t prove it), required PoF is important to make sure you aren’t wasting the Realtor’s time, or fall in love with a house you can’t afford.Case in point.

You could also leave some cleaning supplies around for mailboxes and railings.

Could it not be cleaned up?

I plan on keeping it as a buy and hold type investment and installing central air and re-doing the siding on the property at some point.

My second purchase was another SF circa 1987 - the inspection report wasn't as clean, but I had foundation/structural experts come through to be safe. 

I personally stay at STR 4 months every spring/summer (this years up in the air).  

I'd like to start the clean up and get that house on the market.
