Can an HOA claim "no responsibility" for actions of its contractors
15 February 2014 | 6 replies
It seems to me that in an instance like painting or roofing, where the homeowner is specifically prohibited from choosing their own contractor or doing the the work themselves, that the HOA takes on the responsibility of the outcome of its chosen vendor's actions.

Another way to look at it is the Taxable Value is personal to the owner and the Assessed Value is to the public since certain actions can be taken by owners (like Homesteading) which create the cap on the Taxable Value.

Quitting never crossed my mind...
3 January 2015 | 1 reply
I've been in dangerous situations, I've had more deals fall through they I care to admit, I've had a listing realtor go behind my back and buy her own listing after her client and I had agreed on a price, I've had multiple wholesalers go behind my back and try to steal my deals. All this said, I still completed 17 deal in 2014 (my first full year in RE), and planning on 40-50 deals in 2015.I am always looking into the future, picturing what my life will look like in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, and NONE of those visions will come to fruition if I quit.Take action and keep at it, quitting won't get you anywhere.Good luck to everyone in 2015.

You can find property at good prices 'on the island', but they tend to be too far from the action.
