Their renters insurance is for that.Legally, you're usually not required to pay for alternative living arrangements in the event of a disaster, or moving expenses either.

Whether that's the case or not depends on 1) whether you discussed and agreed to the arrangement in advance 2) if you can demonstrate alternative benefits he received by you staying.If it was me I'd ask if you couldn't have rented that room for even just $300/mo?

The arrangement is the same....work on the property, expenses, and profit are split straight down the middle, 50 / 50.When it comes time to doing taxes, I give all of the paperwork to my CPA.
