I’m wanting to house hack since it’ll be my first time and wondering if anyone has house hacked in a SFR for the first year and used the BRRRR method.

The internal debate is which method would be simplest; borrow the money as a private loan to purchase and use cash flow to pay off.

However, if you are a DIY guy, you may be ok within a few thousand dollars (granted I do not know the SOW)Just double check your comps that this property will be valued for what you think it will, and just remember that the hard part with BRRRR method is keeping good tenants!

What would be the best method, assuming that I am looking at 50,000 properties which could generate 500 gross rent, or 250 after expenses?

Yes, it does cost you some time, but is probably the easiest method without a fight.
