I backed out of another purchase that was a complete gut rehab that had serious structural and infrastructure issues that we found upon closer review with an engineer.

I’m a mechanical engineer, recently transferred from overseas by the company I work for.

Now that my daughter has gone up the corporate latter.. her husband may just make a change  He was for a big engineering company.. but he may want to get into the RE game... and I would fund they would find and rehab and we split profit just like I do with all my other clients. 

I found out about Bigger pockets through an engine search for REO listings.

I'm a little worried though because one of the largest employers in my town (Oswego, NY) just announced they are shutting down, essentially laying off over 500 people (engineers and other high paying jobs) in the next two years.
