This has been a game-changer as a Class C, cash-flow investor and I highly recommend it.This kind of investing won't make you wealthy overnight like the big guys who syndicate 200-door complexes in large cities, but it's also something you can do in your spare time and very low risk to see if you like being a land lord. 

I don't see us ever going Mad Max with small sparse isolated groups of people huddled together in tents, and tumble weed blowing across the empty parking lots of large unoccupied apartment complexes. 

My question is, when looking at going to work for a property management company, would you recommend going to work for a larger company and work at an apartment complex, or would you recommend I look for a third party PM company and work for that company?

@Derek Morrison I own a C-/D+ class apartment complex, and I can tell you that the returns are no where near as stable as stuff in B areas.

I would like to install some form of security camera in my laundry room at the apartment complex.

Keep educating yourself as much as possible so that someday you are better equipped to handle complex deals like foreclosures.

After walk through inspections on some mid size apartment complexes for purchase, we found some issues with the rental market and really high vacancy at multiple locations.
