If you are seeking regular commercial bank loans or portfolio loans, they will not care about the number of financed properties.

So overall a win, even though it was painful at the time.

What's a painful part of the process that could be/should be improved?

I would only seek out this option as a means of a competitive advantage in my high cost of living area to get started.

I'm actually actively seeking a property to build my forever home on in hopes that i bring up the total overall value to do a cashout refi in order to reinvest in other real estate.  

I'm seeking mostly buy and hold for long term rentals, but I think there's room for strategizing with flippers/builders to increase values and shore up sections of neighborhoods in chunks at a time if a group of people are working together.

A conversation to ensure that we are covering ourselves adequately for our situation is primarily what we are seeking with the preference being incorporating. 

Is it worth it to seek those extra few points of yield?
