I actually ended up doing what @Jonathan Greene suggested just for the sake of being cost effective at this moment.

One other thing to note -- if you do end up doing all of the work yourself under an owner-builder permit, there is a restriction that the property cannot be rented or sold for 12 months.

Joe, I can say that a lot of people avoid the West End/Portland areas, but I believe those people are short-sighted or unable to see the potential in these areas. 

There were a few hiccups at closing, but it all worked out in the end.

Over the past 5-8 years the market for higher end hotels, condos, and apartments has exploded along with tourism in the area. 

I've never considered laundry timeslots before but it is a really great idea and definitely something that I think a lot of PM's & landlords could benefit from utilizing. 

I called them out on it and never heard from them again (and hope I never do).  

So double check that plan.Personally, I will never pay off a property (I'll pay them down, but not off).

Never seen one not work that way.
