Hi Bigger pockets community, my name is Jerry Velez and I currently live in Suffolk county, New York and just like a lot of people on here, I was terrified to make my first post on here!

But most importantly, I am looking for people to learn from and invest with along this new journey. 

The last post I did here in BP brought me SO much knowledge and wonderful people who have extended a hand to me.

We did some searching and found they do this to lots of people.

I do that because people can always change their mind or have something come up even with just a day or two before move in, this way the fee is always a fee until the day the lease starts and I get rent. 

To answer your questions:- Save up any money you can, but start learning how to use other people's money to buy real estate.

Then people will listen and become interested in what you are doing.

No point in investing where people are leaving.
