But even without a full-scale repeal, weakening Dodd-Frank won’t be as simple as signing a piece of paper.

They do make filler pieces, since 2'x2' is an uncommon size, so if you found an 18"x18", or something closer, you can get a filler for the grid (though probably only if its a common manufacturer like Armstrong or USG).

But I think I have learned how to compensate for it and keep the "small world's" ears open to me.   

So be encouraged, put in some hard work and keep your eyes, ears and mind open.  

@Michael BowserSo as far as a entry lock to their apartment you are responsible to make sure it's properly working,I wouldn't trust them to do it or expect them to do it right.If if was damaged, then charge them for repair.It's a huge security issue something I personally wouldn't let go 1 day.If they cracked the frame then OMG was it a break in,, did they make a police report,, if not charge them.Cracked frames are not just a put a piece of duct tape on it,could mean a whole new jamb.The extended fix-it metal door jamb things are ok for temp job, but look terrible and is not what was there before.Take photo's, charge them, replace, not repair. 

Once you have a lender and have this piece worked out, you will know for sure if you qualify.

The developers I know typically WILL NOT buy a piece of land unless they know a tenant will commit to the site.

One sheet of paper with the basics.Break your plan down into smaller manageable pieces so you have actionable steps and can track your progress.
