It is actually designed to encourage fraud but there are no penalties for lying.

If you personally would be turned off by this then there lies the problem. 

i see most new constructions selling in the 2 - 4 millions in LA move pretty quickly (less than 3 months)There is without any doubt a slowing down in southern california but maybe part of the problem lies in the quality of the flips and more generaly the real estate.

Currently, I plan to contact the County Assessor for the status and owners information of the residence. 

@Timothy MurphyHi Tim, here in Utah on the assessors website you can search for properties by type; SFR, duplex, fourplex, etc. that’s where I would start.

They could be lying for all I know. 

Seems like it could be a great location being so close to city, but knowing Pittsburgh one street down too many can turn pretty bad which is where my concern lies.

For delinquent tax list, more than likely at the county tax assessor office.For a probate list at the county courthouse.
