Whereas in the old days most month to month furnished rentals were people on the poverty line (Abbot and Costello TV show in the 1950s they lived in a furnished month to month rental) most know are people working in the area temporarily, longer term vacationers, people out patient medical treatment, or people between residences due to home sale, home disaster, or divorce.

If you belong to the order, they provide living quarters (the convent), employment (you don't get a paycheck but you're provided a job), and the order provides food and medical.
