It has not happened yet, but as a property manager, maybe I would offer to aid in finding better tenants at a higher rent for the other owner.That said, I wouldn't be opposed to checking it out to see if smells are passing through the walls, crawl space, attic, vents, etc... and doing anything found to be in need to prevent this, that is also reasonably cost effective.

I would say this, Colorado is light years ahead of other states with regards to properly managing storm water run-off so as to prevent flooding and protect water quality.

Maybe it’s in Ohio only, idk Anyway, it’s your property and you have to take care of it now and then figure out who is going to pay for the damages, how it happened to prevent such cases in future.Flooding, bursting pipes, sewer back up could happen any time without anyone’s fault.The longer you wait to fix it - the more income you lose.
