If one can't navigate a 401k, or an after tax investment account, and get at least average returns over time, I don't think their solution is to dive headlong into attempting navigation of the even more difficult strategy of REI.Sure, your 16 yo son isn't fast on his bike, buying him a Bugatti isn't the solution.
