For $50 and an hour of time, repainting is no big deal.If you want a more lasting solution, install composite decking.

This is assuming everything is new and the cost to replace upon end of useful life: i.e. roof $25/mo, HVAC $15/mo, New kitchen and baths every 15 yrs, decking, exterior repaint, etc.

After a while the bank decided to replace the furnace and repair the backyard deck.
