Also, manufacturing and agriculture outlook is looking rough and couple that with a slowing Chinese economy as well....

Are they installing a name brand faucet that will have repair parts available for 20 years, or one of the Chinese or Mexican attractive but poorly manufactured units that will likely be leaking in less than 2 years, with no parts available?

I've found there's a line of chinese generic cabinets available at non-chain homecenters that are all ply and solid wood, no particleboard, and the same price as the cheap "fall apart" crap from the chains.
