@Pat Jackson I think you're reading it wrong....my reading of the email isn't that they don't care to answer you or think there is a legal issue.

I manage it remotely and have two trusted people that handle maintenance/repairs/tenant issues etc. 

However, two council members were pushing to impose a cap on the number of STR permits issued in the city and earlier had been pushing to shut all STR's down that weren't owner occupied - similar to Denver's regulation. 

Unfortunately, we've had some bumps in the road the past year with family health issues, flooding of a basement and loss of a job.  

Has anyone had any issue like this happen to them?

May also work if the duplex is a higher price, larger square footage, in a better school district etc.I know I sound like a broken record on these forums but “Occupancy” is not always a black/White issue 

Also, the Colorado Springs council says they will address this issue again after six months.

At about the 2.5 year mark, they divorced, switched partners, and the payments that were coming to me via EFT from his Air Force paycheck, came late from her and with excuses for about 2 years, until I made it a big issue for her to get it set up on EFT again.Long Story Short: She never allowed me to come visit them at the house or to check on it. 

Although we have been assigning this volume, we have had several issues getting to the closing table, some out of our control and other areas that could be improved on to streamline this step of the process.
