Local repair places may work on some of the models but most don't.

The challenge for you is the creativity of the model and the efficacy of your system in creating qualifyable purchasers.

This might have changed.Also, look for scratch and dent appliances or discontinued models to save money.

Well I do not know about renters where you were at but there is no way tenants would agree to pay 100 every time they want something fixed.These costs should be baked into your rent model for fixing things as a landlord.I know there are people teaching have the tenant responsible for the first 50 or 100 dollars of repairs each time etc.

However, I also see a lot of potential problems with this model.  

The model is very different than the model we invest with.

Though we sell about 70% of our cabinets in the white shaker style, I would strongly discourage you from doing that.

And on Chicago power outs, keep investigating, but my favorite brand (and the one in my master plumber's crawl space) is a Zoeller like this (600 bucks for model with battery, which I don't have) so three grand to hook it to a piece of pipe seems high, but maybe your plumber has a higher end, higher capacity pump...
