Are there specific locations along the coast that might work well for this?

I am located in the Charlotte area and would agree about the presence of our financial sector but also medical is a huge industry as well.If your outlook is 10 years then going with either option will prove fruitful.

It was recommend by a contractor and he installs this for homes and even in commercial locations such as malls. 

My hope is to househack (living in one unit while my wife and I live in the other- not renting out rooms) and hold the property as an investment.

Sellers did share numbers but they just lived there so doesn’t do much with collecting rent numbers. and agent is asking for numbers from OTHER UNITS because the one I have an offer on was personally occupied.do you have some to share? 

We are moving to another home that we have renovated, and will be renting out our primary residence on a long-term lease.
