A while ago I read the BP book on managing rental properties and the author mentioned the 1% and 2% rule as being solid measures for evaluating a deal.

I did some research and learned the city/county must have a local Public Housing Authority which can administer the voucher.

Hi Torrey,      When I was getting my first few deals I would say the authors that I read, and podcasts I listened to were my mentors.

. - It can be very location specific from needing a permit for a pole barn (actual agricultural use, to not needing anything based on the additional being directly for agricultural use- just depends on your local authority)If you’re zoned as cumulative - you are usually allowed to go down in impact on the land usage, but not up.

The city then authorized private inspectors, mostly architects, which my expeditor was one to sign off on inspections. 

Second is to call your local housing authority.

We recently had a case where we purchased a new SFR property and we had a clear CO from the local authority.
