In Austin it is a hot market and I'd say 80% of inventory on the MLS is already remodeled and selling for top dollar.

However, hydrojetting can work wonders on old cast iron pipes and its alot cheaper than new runs.If I am tackling a major remodel, and I have a chance to change out old cast iron vent stacks to PVC I do.

The home remodel has been more on the modern side - grey wall tones - white kitchen cabinets with white/grey granite.

The real value comes from finding a house with a really outdated kitchen or a house with no kitchen at all and remodeling.(2) You never want to make your house too fancy so that it looks like it doesn't belong in the neighborhood.
