I'm considering purchasing a cabin on a popular chain of lakes in the Baxter/Brainerd/Crosslake area of Minnesota and holding it as a short term vacation rental.

What a surprise that would be when they show up on my doorstep and I charge them an extra fee.I can see how this format would work for a hotel chain, but for a STR owner, this is ludicrous.

I really didn’t have any idea about what I was doing, but now I would like to branch into small (2-4) multis and learn more Lessons learned?

These could be larger, chain link fence enclosures, or smaller closets or cabinets, depending on available space.

My goals in the 3 years is to own a 4-plex and hopefully branch off from there.

We have stayed at 35 STR in the last 6 years and would always choose supporting a person over a chain hotel.... unfortunately, the unflagged hotels are usually dives.

I never heard of the bank and when I went into their branch in El Segundo California I was surprised to see not one customer come into the bank during the 5 or 6 times I was opening and closing accounts and dealing with the branch manager who was wearing blue jeans, a regular shirt with no tie and looked more like a janitor.If I rated this bank based on their appearance I would probably not have done business with them, but they gave me the best loan I could get.
