To which I turn to the most trusted community in RE.Myself and two of my business partners are looking to start our journey in Real Estate development and am looking for some advice, we have experience in owning and managing rentals so none of that is new to us...just building the thing is.We are looking to start developing duplex homes across the Chicagoland Suburbs but cannot find the right person to talk to that can give us a clear idea of where to start.

Most of which I can probably manage myself. 

I make a decent salary of $90,000/ year at my day job as a project manager for a real estate development company in downtown Houston.

Then I began to network... alot, then I built a team RE agent, property manager, lawer... etc. then I bought my first unit. 

Once I see it I’ll decide if I like it. . 

We have a small management company and our common practice is to inspect the units every three months or so.

I do understand there is risk with finding a good network out of state of contractors and property managers. 

For instance, if I bought a property in an HOA community and decided to use it as a rental can the HOA tell me no?

Is that accurate or does it work just like other property management?

Is the paint so bad you can't live with it for a year and then decide this next year.
