The town they are referring to is something I would spend sometime researching .EG... crime stats  / graduation rates / etc...

@Sophie Lavet what you are referring to is known as being a  "bird dog" similar to wholesaling, except you don't actually have the property under contract so it is more risky for you because there is no guarantee who ever you give the deal to will pay you. but it will make things simpler for you because you don't have to worry about the contract. 

Hi Account Closed,The attorney you spoke to is trying to protect you from perceived legal liability-- that is what attorneys worry about, after all.

And as every new city that I go to I am looking at all the Real Estate that is happening in the area.

Usually wherever their tax bill is sent to is where I would write the letter, sometimes they have the owners names with their addresses attached.Good luck!

Only just joined and have a burning question (more to follow I'm sure) - So I went for loan on a property which I have under contract (my first) & I found out that this bank I'm applying to is the original loaner on that property.

I guess as a hypothetical, if someone would say their income and it is far too low for what we accept or they say they have a pit bull, should we then say well based on the information we have, your application would be rejected but you can still take the next step if you want to. I

So how to I follow-up on this and could be awhile?
