I'm curious to see the actual ins and outs of who and what kind of referrals float around in this industry and what kind of business/ income in generates.

For handymen and contractors, you just need to get referrals as you go, IMO. 

@Tony GeorgeMaybe an attorney from Texas will comment on the legal questions but I would suggest finding your team (including contractors) from referrals...referrals from other investors just like you.

I believe you could also get your license and put it into Referral only and save the MIBOR costs and continuing education costs.

Its been me and all my work has been referral so i never really ran it as a true business.

In general the best 2 options are Referrals and see who has most of the listings in town.
