There is a reason why the value of the owner occupied house is not included in the asset list but the money owed is included in the liability list when calculating the net worth.Assuming no compromise in the 3 Ls, the only thing that could have been done differently would be to go for as little a downpayment as possible: 3-5% is being offered by big banks.
